This month July Armchair Travel will take us to legendary Turkey. Local residents Debby and Pat Callahan will be sharing tales of their trip to Istanbul, Pergamum, Ephesus, the Turquoise Coast and Cappadocia. They will highlight important but perhaps little known facts about Turkey’s ancient civilizations – the Hittite, Greek, Roman, Christian, and Ottoman civilizations through to the modern republic – that give Turkey such a rich past and fascinating present. Join us for what promises to be another fascinating evening of adventure at Armchair Travel.
Armchair Travel meets the third Tuesday of every month – this month on Tuesday July 18 at 6 p.m., in the beautiful Nautilus Room of the Coronado Community Center, 1845 Strand Way. Refreshments are served from 6 to 6:45 p.m., when the Callahans will begin their presentation. This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to meet old friends and make new acquaintances with whom they share a common interest in travel. The city charges a $5 admission fee, payable at the Recreation Center front desk.
