Campari has launched a new Wild Turkey expression in partnership with brand ambassador and film star Matthew McConaughey.
Wild Turkey Longbranch plays on McConaughey’s Kentucky and Texas background and is made using Texas mesquite and oak charcoals. The launch marks the first time Wild Turkey has unveiled a product that bears a signature of someone other than the master distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell.
Longbranch is made with eight-year-old Wild Turkey Bourbon and has flavours of caramel, pear, and citrus, Campari said today. It will be available on shelves across the US in May and roll-out to additional markets around the world later this year.
“Our goal was to make a straight Bourbon whiskey with a soft sweetness that was still unmistakably Wild Turkey,” said Eddie Russell.
Campari, which acquired Wild Turkey from Pernod Ricard eight years ago, recruited McConaughey as the brand’s creative director last year. The actor has signed a multi-year partnership with Campari and appeared in and directed short films for the Wild Turkey brand.
