Man injured in UK Erdoğan protest

The injured man, who has not been named, was reportedly rugby tacked by police officers prior to being taken to hospital for treatment. Protesters claimed the police used unreasonable force in controlling the demonstration.

“Protesters attempted to block the passage of vehicles and police tactics were deployed to protect the protesters and keep the road clear for the vehicles,” the police said.

Erdoğan is currently in UK on a visit to promote business links between the two countries during which he will meet with both the Prime Minister Teresa May and the Queen.
