Ankara is to send Qatar 11 tons of humanitarian aid, state news agency Anadolu has announced.
Turkey’s Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said some 90 plane loads of milk products, eggs and other aid have already been sent.
It comes just over two weeks after five of the gulf state’s closest neighbours accused Doha of supporting terrorism and abruptly cut diplomatic relations. Some also closed their airspace to Qatari aircraft and two further countries later downgraded ties.
Its the worst diplomatic crisis to strike the region in years, further complicated by the fact that both Turkey and the US have miltary bases in Qatar. While they are allies in the Syrian civil war, Washington has backed tough measures against the state.
Qatar denies allegations of funding terrorism, instigating regional instability and of becoming friendly with regional enemy Iran.
