Now that we’re fully into the summer months, it means the silly season is upon us yet again. Yesterday reports linked FC Dallas with Nacnelly Torres, and today they are linked to yet another playmaker, news that should excite some of you.
First of all, Hugo Rodallega is not a goalkeeper, so let’s get that one out of the way first. Secondly, he’s a pretty talented Colombian national team player, so stop me if this sounds familiar.
The 31-year old striker, started last season playing for Turkish Super Lig team Akhisar Belediye GS, before moving to Trabzonspor for 1.8 million Euros during the Winter Transfer window. Rodallega played in 15 matches for Trabzonspor, starting 10 of those matches as the lone striker in the 4-5-1 formation. Rodallega ended the season as Trabzonspor’s leading scorer, with six goals, and he added two assists. Overall, Rodallega played in 32 Super Lig games last season, starting 27 of them, and finished with 10 goals and three assists.
Hugo Rodallega is a fiery competitor who can also play on the wings, and has excellent set piece abilities. Rodallega also has 43 Colombian National Team appearances, with eight goals. He also has English Premier League experience with Wigan Athletic, where he is their all-time Premier League scored with 28 goals.
What do you make of this new rumor? Excited to see another Colombian on this roster? Think this is the striker FC Dallas is missing?
