TURKEY CREEK, Ky. – An elderly Turkey Creek man was hit by a pickup truck around 1:30 p.m. on Friday as he was crossing that rural road near his home.

He was identified as Jody Todd. The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating the accident. The driver of the pickup truck was listed as Terry Walters of Texas by the KSP.

The Turkey Creek Volunteer Fire Department was the first responders on the scene. Todd was being treated by neighbors in their front lawn until the TVFD and later Appalachian 1st Response ambulance service arrived to transport him to a local hospital.

Walters was driving a white F150 Ford truck.

KSP Trooper J.H. Dixon was the investigating officer. The incident is still under investigation, but it appeared that no charges would be filed against the driver.

While the pedestrian vs. the truck incident was being investigated, another minor fender bender occurred between vehicles that were backed up for the first accident.
