CORNWALL-ON-HUDSON — On Nov. 18 at 10 a.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will host “Turkey Tales” at the Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson.

Join museum educators to learn about the fascinating bird that is so prevalent this time of year. Find out about the turkey’s natural history and adaptations, and make a turkey craft to take home.

“Turkeys usually run to escape danger, but they can fly 40-50 mph over short distances,” said Emily Nestlerode, Wildlife Education Center manager. “At night, turkeys roost in trees to avoid predators.”

Enjoy free same-day admission to the Wildlife Education Center after paid attendance to this program with “Meet the Animals” presentations at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Admission to this program for museum members is $5; $3 for children. For nonmembers it’s $8; $5 for children. For more information, go to hhnm.org or call 534-5506, ext. 204.
